Today we will be discussing about Samsung Galaxy S5 Eye Icon in the status bar. This symbol looks like an eye. It appears at regular intervals in the status bar and then disappears. You might be wondering why this icon appears? And why it disappears again and again?
Why Galaxy S5 Eye Icon Appears?
This is the new function introduced by Samsung in the Galaxy S5. The name of the function is Smart Stay. The purpose of this function is that. It illuminates the display screen until you are looking at it. It means that Galaxy S5 check at the regular intervals either you are watching the display or not. Your mobile’s front camera performs this activity. which checks simple patterns. When your phone is performing this activity you will observe an eye symbol in the status bar.
Deactivate Smart Stay
Some people don’t like Smart Stay and want to get rid of Galaxy S5 Eye Icon in the status bar. If you are one of them. Then perform the following steps to deactivate it.
- Click on the Menu Icon
- Then go to Settings
- Select the display option
- Scroll. You will find an option Smart Stay
- Uncheck this option
By performing the above steps you have disabled the Smart Stay option. This means that Eye Icon will not appear anymore in the Status bar.
