Export iPhone Contacts To vCard
A vCard is a standard file and many platform supports it. This is one of the simplest methods. Please follow the following steps.
- Go to settings, Click on your names, then tap iCloud.
- Now on contacts toggle on the switch button if it is off. If this switch button is off. Then this means that your contacts are not synced with your iCloud account. And you will not be able to export to a file. So turn this switch on.
- Now on your computer. Go to your browser and open iCloud.com
- Use your Apple ID to sign in.
- Now choose Contacts.
- Use Shift+Ctrl to select the contacts you want to download. If you want to download all contacts. Then click on the gear icon on the bottom of the left side. A popup will appear, click on select all.
- Once you have select all your contacts click on the gear icon on the bottom of the left side. Then click on the export to vCard. This will export all your contacts in vCard.
- By doing this all your contacts will be saved in .vcf file on your computer. You can access them anytime.
Export iPhone Contacts To Gmail
You can also backup your iPhone contacts on your Gmail account. For that, you need a Gmail account. Gmail is better than iCloud. Because if you move to Android from IOS than you can also use your contacts from Gmail.
- 1st of all you need to follow the above steps to create a .vcf file.
- Now go to Google Contacts. And Sign In with your Google account.
- On the Left side, bar click on the import.
- A popup will appear. That will ask you for the file. Select your .vcf here.
- Once you have selected the file. Click on the import button to import all your contacts.
Transfer iPhone Contacts To Android
If you are switching from iPhone to Android. Then you need to move all your contacts from iPhone to Android. Here we are sharing the simplest method that will help you. Please follow the following steps.
- Go to settings, Click on your names, then tap iCloud.
- Now on contacts toggle on the switch button if it is off. If this switch button is off. Then this means that your contacts are not synced with your iCloud account.
- Now on your computer. Go to your browser and open iCloud.com
- Use your Apple ID to sign in. And Choose Contacts.
- Now select all the contacts you want to export by using Shift+Ctrl. If you want to export all contacts. Then click on the gear icon on the left bottom of the screen. And in popup click on select all. This will select all your contacts.
- Once you selected all the contacts you want to export. Click on the gear icon on the left bottom of the screen and click on Export to vCard.
- Now connect your Android phone on Your computer and select the file transfer option when it prompts.
- In the next step, you have to copy the above .vcf file into the internal storage of your Android phone.
- Now open the contacts app on your android phone. Go to more options and select Import/Export.
- Click on import from storage and select the vCard file. Once you select the file. It will take a short time. And your contacts will be imported.
Export iPhone Contacts To CSV
Another method is that you can export your contacts into CSV or Excel files. From there you can import files wherever you want.
You can convert the .vcf created in the First method here. Now go to http://labs.brotherli.ch/vcfconvert/ and select your file. Follow the following configuration to convert your file.
- Encoding: choose Unicode (UTF-8)
- Filter: don’t change anything
- Modifications: don’t change anything
- Format: choose CSV, choose Comma, enable Add Header Line
- Now click on the convert button. Once it is converted then you can download it. And you are done.
